FAQ
Common questions
Isn’t my firewall enough to stop DDoS attacks? +
No. Firewalls track connection state, which makes them a target — a large or state-exhaustion attack can take them down. Arbor Edge Defense is stateless and sits in front of the firewall to absorb that traffic.
Should DDoS protection be on-premise or in the cloud? +
For most organisations, both. On-premise protection stops attacks instantly with no traffic diversion, while Arbor Cloud absorbs volumetric attacks that would saturate your internet link. AED signals the cloud automatically when it is needed.
We are a service provider — can we protect our customers? +
Yes. Arbor Sightline and TMS are built for carrier networks, and let you protect your own infrastructure and deliver DDoS protection as a managed service to your enterprise customers.
