Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 June 2026

Geronimo Data Systems Africa (“GDS Africa”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data lawfully, transparently and securely. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.gdsafrica.com (the “Site”) or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

Who we are

GDS Africa (Geronimo Data Systems Africa) is an enterprise IT solutions and managed-services provider based in Accra, Ghana.

  • Address: 1 Klan Street, North Industrial Area, Accra, Ghana
  • Email: info@gdsafrica.com
  • Phone: +233 302 232 116
  • We are registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

The information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

1. Information you give us (contact form)

When you use the contact form on the Site, we collect the details you submit — typically your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and to follow up about our products and services.

2. Information collected automatically (analytics)

We use a privacy-first, cookieless web-analytics tool (Umami), which we self-host on our own infrastructure — your analytics data is not shared with Google or any advertising network. It records aggregate, non-identifying information such as pages viewed, approximate country, referring website, browser type and device type. It does not use cookies, and it does not store your raw IP address — your IP and browser details are converted into a rotating, anonymous identifier that cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. Spam protection

Our contact form is protected by hCaptcha to prevent automated abuse. hCaptcha is operated by Intuition Machines, Inc. and may process limited technical data (such as your IP address and interaction data) to distinguish humans from bots, subject to its own privacy policy.

Cookies

The Site does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. Our analytics are cookieless. Any cookies strictly necessary for the Site or its spam protection to function are limited to that purpose. Because we set no non-essential cookies, no cookie-consent banner is required.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • respond to and manage your enquiries;
  • provide, maintain and improve the Site and our services;
  • understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site so we can improve it;
  • protect the Site against spam, fraud and abuse;
  • comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (which you give by submitting the contact form), our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the Site, and where necessary to comply with the law.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Site and respond to you — notably Microsoft Azure (website hosting and email delivery) and the spam-protection provider named above — who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards;
  • Authorities or regulators where we are legally required to do so.

Some of these providers may process data outside Ghana. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected to a standard consistent with Act 843.

Data retention

We keep contact-form enquiries for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted, unless we are required to retain them longer for legal or record-keeping purposes. Aggregate analytics data is retained for 12 months and contains no personal identifiers.

How we protect your data

Our Site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and we apply organisational and technical measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the limited data we hold. As an ISO 27001-certified organisation, information security is built into how we operate.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete your data or stop processing it;
  • withdraw any consent you have given;
  • complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@gdsafrica.com. We will respond within the period required by law.

Links to other sites

The Site contains links to third-party sites (for example our social-media pages and partner/vendor sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
