What it is
About the accreditation
ISO 45001 is the international standard for an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) management system. It gives organisations a framework to prevent work-related injury and ill-health and to provide safe, healthy workplaces.
The standard emphasises proactive hazard identification and risk control, compliance with applicable legal requirements, leadership accountability and the active participation of workers in safety. Independent certification confirms that these practices are embedded and continually improved, not just written down.

How GDS Africa applies this
Much of what GDS Africa does involves physical work — data centre installations, structured cabling, equipment handling, on-site networking and hardware deployment. ISO 45001 governs how we plan and carry out that work safely.
Before our teams work on a client site, we assess the hazards involved and define safe methods of work. We provide appropriate equipment and personal protective gear, follow safe handling procedures, and report and learn from incidents and near-misses. The result is responsible delivery that protects our engineers and everyone in your facility.
